Our lapping films are available in a range of grades from 1-30 μm, with the option of PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive) backing for added convenience.
These films are designed with bonded or coated abrasive films of SiC, ensuring a large number of cutting points and a negative abrasive rank angle. This is achieved by aligning the abrasive particles approximately normal to the backing. It's important to note that coated abrasives are not quite coplanar, which is why SiC papers are the most efficient option. They produce the maximum cut rate, stock removal, and minimal damage because new abrasive is exposed as the old abrasive breaks down.
